F.A.Q
Q: Can I order a Vent Cover in
different sizes than what is on offer?
A: Unfortunately, we do not have such
technical possibilities. However, we often suggest to our customers the option
of reducing or enlarging the ventilation openings.
Q: Can I paint the Vent Cover
immediately after unpacking from the box? Do I have to use primer?
A: If you plan to install Plaster
Vent Cover indoors, you can paint it right after unboxing with any color of
emulsion paint.
To obtain the full colour, we
recommend painting three times (the first layer is painted with paint slightly
diluted with water).
Q: Should I paint the Vent cover with
glued mesh ?
A It depends on the painting
technique. If you want to paint only the exterior of the cover, we recommend
using a sponge roller and a minimum amount of paint and paint several times
until the surface is completely covered. In this case, it is not necessary to
take off the mesh or order it separately.
If you want to paint the Vent Cover
in each plane with a brush or spray, we recommend to peel off the mesh by
yourself, or to write information that you want the mesh separately while
ordering. After painting, the mesh should be glued with the included glue or
with any other appropriate.
Q: Can I install Vent Cover outside?
A: We do not recommend using Plaster
Vent covers outdoors due to changing weather conditions.
However, we know that some customers
install them also outdoors, having previously painted with primer and other
paints. We recommend consulting your decorator or Joiner.
Q: What can I do if I receive a
cracked Vent Cover during shipping?
A: Unfortunately, despite safe
packaging, such cases do happen. You should contact us and report the problem.
We will ask for some photos to assess
the extent of the damage.
In the event of a small damage, we
will ask you to send the Cover back at our expense to the address provided, .
At the time of notification, we will pack and send a new one to the customer
the next day. The customer does not have to wait for the return and repair
process to complete.
We may ask the customer to keep the
adhesive with the instructions from the damaged Vent cover for environmental
purposes.
Q: What can I do if I damage the Vent
cover during installation? If I press it too hard to an uneven wall or if I do
not secure it after gluing for the time of drying and it will fall off the wall
or ceiling?
A: Contact us.
Q: Can I stick the Vent Cover with a
different glue?
A: Yes, but just to be sure, contact
your decorator or joiner for advice.
Q:What to do if my order is late?
A: We ship orders as soon as
possible. It's often the same day in the evening. However, it happens that the
courier or Royal Mail has delays due to strike or other unknown reasons
We usually ask for more patience. If
the order still does not arrive, we send a new Vent Cover to the customer with
a request to send back one of received at our expense when the customer has
already had two. For this reason, we do not recommend making an appointment
with the decorator or joiner before receiving your order. There is an option of
different shipping class when ordering. If it is an urgent purchase, we
recommend using the option which requires an additional fee.
Q: Can I track my shipment?
A: This is not possible with the free
shipping option.
Free shipping is a 2nd Class
RoyalMail service and it does not have such a function, there is only
confirmation of the delivery of the order.
In order to be able to track the
shipment, you must purchase the shipping with a tracker.
Q: Can the Plaster Vent Cover
corrode?
A: No, one of the advantages of
gypsum is that it does not corrode.
Q: Is the Vent Cover fireproof?
A: Yes, the Plaster Vent cover is
heat resistant.
However, while using Plaster Vent
Cover in high temperatures the anti-insect mesh should be removed and you
should contact the decorator for advice on what glue to use to install it.
Q: I want to order a large quantity
of Vent covers to sell them in my in-store. Can I get discount when buying
larger quantities?
A: Yes, it is possible. However, this
only applies to large orders.
Each Plaster Vent Cover is very
precisely hand-made and it is very laborious. The price of Vent Covers includes
cost of: materials, working time, real estate rent and transport, which
unfortunately since 2022, has been steadily increasing.
Q: I want to give the Plaster Vent
Cover to my mother, is there a possibility to send such an order to her address
as a gift without information about the price of the product?
A: Yes, there is such a possibility.
While placing an order, a gift option should be marked and it will be sent as
such. We recommend to make sure that the address provided is correct in order
to avoid mistakes.
Q: Can I return the Plaster Vent
Cover?
A: Yes, there are 30 days from the
purchase date to return your order.
The cost of returning is covered by
the buyer. The order must reach us undamaged, so it is very important to secure
the Vent Cover very carefully for sending.
We recommend using damage insurance
RoyalMail services to minimize risk.
Q: What should I do if I receive an
order in a damaged package?
A: If possible, during the collection
from the hands of the postman, inform him that the box is damaged and ask how
to proceed further.
If it is not possible, take some
photos of the damaged box before opening as well as photos of the damaged
contents, together with the filling used to protect the Vent Covers. If you
send us photos, you will help us to place a complaint and there will be a
chance to recover some or all of the costs.

P49R Decorative Plaster Air Vent Cover – 242 × 132 mm
Transform an ordinary ventilation opening into an elegant architectural feature with the P49R decorative plaster air vent cover.
This model features a repeating geometric pattern combining circular and four-lobed openings, surrounded by a smooth outer frame with gently rounded corners. Its balanced design works particularly well in traditional, contemporary and eclectic interiors, providing effective ventilation without the industrial appearance of a standard plastic or metal grille.
Handmade in the UK from high-strength Crystacal R plaster reinforced with fibreglass, each vent cover is supplied in natural white plaster and can be painted with standard interior emulsion or another suitable water-based paint.
The slightly enlarged 242 × 132 mm format makes the P49R suitable for covering small and medium-sized internal ventilation openings while maintaining a compact and discreet appearance.
Ideal for:
• chimney breasts
• living rooms and hallways
• bedrooms and home offices
• feature walls
• traditional and contemporary interiors
• renovation and restoration projects
• covering internal air vents and ventilation openings
• walls and suitable ceiling applications

Technical Details
Model: P49R
Overall size: 242 × 132 mm
Approximate imperial size: 9.52 × 5.19 inches
Material: Crystacal R plaster reinforced with fibreglass
Finish: Natural white raw plaster, ready for painting
Protection: Integrated anti-insect mesh
Installation: Surface-mounted using a suitable adhesive
Adhesive: Included with the product
Manufacturing tolerance: approximately ±2–3 mm
Suitable location: Dry indoor use only
Due to the handmade casting process, minor variations in dimensions, surface texture and finish may occur. These natural differences are characteristic of individually handmade plaster products rather than mass-produced plastic grilles.
Please measure the ventilation opening carefully before ordering. The solid outer frame must overlap the opening sufficiently on all sides to provide a secure mounting surface for the adhesive.
Airflow Information
Calculated free open area: approximately 57.6 cm²
The open area represents approximately 32% of the 200 × 90 mm decorative pattern area.
The calculated free area is approximately equivalent to the surface area of a circular opening measuring around 86 mm in diameter.
Estimated theoretical airflow:
• 0.5 m/s – approximately 10.4 m³/h
• 1.0 m/s – approximately 20.7 m³/h
• 1.5 m/s – approximately 31.1 m³/h
• 2.0 m/s – approximately 41.5 m³/h
• 2.5 m/s – approximately 51.8 m³/h
• 3.0 m/s – approximately 62.2 m³/h
Actual airflow will depend on the ventilation opening, duct dimensions, fan performance, pressure difference, insect mesh, paint thickness and installation conditions.
These airflow values are calculated theoretical estimates. The product has not been laboratory tested or certified for airflow capacity or pressure-drop performance.
Installation
The mounting surface must be clean, dry, stable and free from dust, grease, loose paint and other contaminants.
Before applying adhesive, position the cover over the ventilation opening and check that:
• the opening is completely covered
• the frame overlaps the wall sufficiently
• the cover sits flat against the surface
• the ventilation path remains unobstructed
Apply a suitable adhesive around the solid outer frame only. Do not apply adhesive across the patterned ventilation section or directly over the openings, as this may restrict airflow.
Position the vent cover carefully and press it gently against the surface. Do not use excessive pressure, particularly where the wall is uneven, as solid plaster may crack if forced against an irregular surface.
Secure the cover with strong masking tape, a brace or another appropriate support for the entire adhesive curing period. Do not remove the support until the adhesive has fully cured and the cover has been checked for stability.
The adhesive supplied with the product is a suggested mounting solution and may not be suitable for every wall, ceiling or substrate. Where necessary, consult a professional decorator, builder or joiner and select an appropriate construction-grade adhesive.
Painting Instructions
The vent cover is supplied in natural white plaster and can be painted to match the surrounding wall, chimney breast or interior colour scheme.
For the best finish:
- Remove any loose dust using a clean, dry and soft brush.
- Apply the first coat of interior emulsion paint slightly diluted with water.
- Allow it to dry completely.
- Apply two further thin coats until full and even colour coverage is achieved.
- Avoid applying excessive paint inside the ventilation openings.
Several thin coats will provide a cleaner and more durable finish than one heavy coat.
When painting only the front surface, use a small sponge roller with a minimal amount of paint. In this case, the anti-insect mesh can usually remain attached.
When painting all surfaces with a brush or spray equipment, removing the mesh before painting may provide a cleaner result and reduce the risk of blocking it with paint. After painting, the mesh should be securely reattached using an appropriate adhesive.
Important Information
This decorative vent cover is intended for dry indoor use only.
It should not be installed outdoors or in locations exposed to rain, frost, prolonged moisture, condensation or significant temperature changes.
Handle the product carefully. Although Crystacal R plaster reinforced with fibreglass is strong and durable, the cover may chip or crack if dropped, bent, struck or pressed against an uneven surface.
Do not install above beds, seating areas or other locations where detachment could cause injury unless a suitable and secure fixing method has been selected.
The complete product, including the plaster, fibreglass reinforcement, anti-insect mesh, paint and adhesive, has not been independently tested or certified as a fire-rated ventilation grille.
It must not be used where building regulations, a fire-risk assessment or another specification requires:
• a certified fire-rated grille
• an intumescent air vent
• a fire barrier
• a tested ventilation component
• a specified airflow or pressure-drop performance
