Orders are normally prepared and dispatched within 1 working day.

Free UK delivery is sent via Royal Mail 48 Tracked and usually arrives within 2–5 working days after dispatch.

For customised, made-to-order or unusually large orders, preparation may take longer. Any extended lead time will be confirmed before dispatch.

All products are carefully packed and shipped directly from our workshop in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I order a vent cover in a custom size?

Our standard vent covers are made using fixed moulds, so individual size adjustments are not normally possible.

For larger projects or bulk orders, a new custom mould may be possible. Please contact us before ordering to discuss the required dimensions, quantity, cost and production time.

Can I paint the vent cover?

Yes. The vent cover is supplied in natural white plaster and can be painted with standard interior emulsion paint.

For the best finish:

• apply several thin coats rather than one heavy coat;
• slightly dilute the first coat with water;
• allow each coat to dry fully before applying the next one.

No separate primer is normally required for standard indoor emulsion painting.

Should I remove the insect mesh before painting?

It depends on the painting method.

When using a small sponge roller and a limited amount of paint, the mesh can usually remain fitted.

For spray painting or full brush coverage, we recommend removing the mesh before painting and reattaching it after the paint has dried. Please contact us before ordering if you would prefer the mesh to be supplied separately.

Can the vent cover be installed outdoors?

No. Our plaster vent covers are designed for indoor use only.

Exposure to rain, frost, prolonged moisture and changing outdoor temperatures may damage the plaster and is not covered by the product warranty.

How is the vent cover installed?

The cover is surface-mounted using a suitable adhesive, so visible screws are not normally required.

The wall must be clean, dry, stable and free from dust. The vent cover must be mechanically supported with strong tape, a brace or a prop until the adhesive has fully cured.

The included adhesive is provided as a general installation suggestion. The installer is responsible for confirming that it is suitable for the particular wall surface.

Can I use a different adhesive?

Yes. You may use another adhesive suitable for both plaster and your wall surface.

Always follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions. For unusual, uneven or recently decorated surfaces, we recommend consulting a professional decorator or installer.

What happens if my vent cover arrives damaged?

Although every order is carefully packed, plaster products can occasionally be damaged during transport.

Please contact us as soon as possible and provide:

• photographs of the outer packaging;
• photographs of the internal protective packaging;
• clear photographs of the damaged product.

Once the damage has been assessed, we will arrange an appropriate replacement or other resolution. Please retain all packaging until we confirm that it is no longer required.

What happens if I damage the cover during installation?

Damage caused during handling, painting or installation is not normally covered by the warranty.

Please contact us and send photographs. Depending on the damage, we may be able to recommend a repair method or offer a replacement option.

Can I track my order?

Yes. UK orders sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48 can be tracked from dispatch to delivery. Tracking details are provided after the order has been dispatched.

What should I do if my order is delayed?

Please check the tracking information first, as occasional carrier delays may occur.

If the parcel has not arrived within the expected delivery period, contact us with your order number. We will investigate the shipment and advise you on the next step.

We recommend waiting until the product has arrived safely before booking an installer.

Can plaster vent covers corrode?

No. Plaster does not rust or corrode like metal.

However, it can be damaged by prolonged moisture, so the product should only be installed in dry indoor locations.

Is the vent cover fireproof?

I recommend not using the word “fireproof” unless the complete finished product has been independently tested and certified.

Use this safer answer instead:

The vent cover is manufactured from mineral-based plaster. However, the complete product, including the fibreglass reinforcement, insect mesh, paint and adhesive, has not been independently tested or certified as a fire-rated ventilation product. It should not be installed where a certified fire-rated grille, fire barrier or intumescent vent is required.

This wording is much safer than claiming that the product is fireproof or heat resistant.

Do you offer discounts for larger orders?

Yes. Trade and volume pricing may be available for larger orders.

Please contact us with:

• the model number;
• required quantity;
• delivery location;
• preferred timescale.

Because every cover is handmade, discounts depend on the model, quantity and production requirements.

Can the order be sent as a gift?

Yes. We can send the order directly to another address without including pricing information inside the parcel.

Please enter the correct delivery address during checkout and leave a note confirming that the order is a gift.

Can I return the vent cover?

Unused standard products may be returned in accordance with our returns policy.

Please contact us before returning an item. The product must be securely packed and returned in its original condition. Unless the product is faulty or damaged on arrival, the buyer is normally responsible for return postage.

For UK distance sales, customers generally have 14 days after delivery to notify the seller that they wish to cancel, followed by another 14 days to return the goods. You may voluntarily offer a longer 30-day return period, but your full Returns Policy should explain the conditions clearly. Custom-made or clearly personalised products may be excluded from change-of-mind cancellation rights. 

How do I choose the correct size?

Measure the ventilation opening rather than the existing grille.

The vent cover must overlap the opening sufficiently on every side to provide a stable adhesive mounting area. Please compare the opening dimensions with the overall product size and the internal patterned area shown in the technical drawing.

If you are unsure, send us a photograph and the exact dimensions of the opening before ordering.

Returns

You may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it. After notifying us, you have a further 14 days to return the product.

Before returning an item, please contact us and include your order number.

Returned products must be:

• unused and uninstalled;
• unpainted and unmodified;
• securely packaged;
• returned in their original condition.

Unless the product is faulty, incorrect or damaged on arrival, the buyer is responsible for the return postage cost.

We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured postal service, as plaster products can be damaged if they are not packed carefully.

This decorative plaster vent cover is designed for indoor installation only.

Important safety information

• Handle with care. Although reinforced with fibreglass, plaster may chip, crack or break if dropped or subjected to excessive pressure.
• This product is not a toy. Keep the vent cover, insect mesh, adhesive and packaging materials away from children.
• Wear protective gloves and safety glasses during installation.
• Do not install the product above beds, seating areas or other locations where detachment could cause injury or damage.
• Do not install on damp, unstable, dusty, loose or deteriorating surfaces.
• Use only suitable interior paints and follow the paint manufacturer’s safety instructions.
• Do not use this product where a certified fire-rated, heat-resistant or safety-critical ventilation grille is required.

Installation requirements

• The mounting surface must be clean, dry, stable and free from dust, grease and loose paint.
• Check that the vent cover adequately overlaps the ventilation opening before applying adhesive.
• The adhesive supplied, where applicable, is provided as a general installation option and may not be suitable for every surface.
• Select an adhesive suitable for both plaster and the specific wall finish. Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions regarding application, curing time and surface preparation.
• Apply adhesive around the solid outer frame only. Avoid blocking the ventilation openings.
• Position the cover carefully and do not press excessively against an uneven wall.
• The vent cover must be mechanically supported using strong tape, a brace or a prop for the entire adhesive curing period.
• Do not remove the support until the adhesive has fully cured and the installation has been checked for stability.

Before completing the installation

Gently check that the cover is securely attached before leaving it unsupported. If the wall is uneven, recently painted, damaged or made from an unusual material, consult a qualified decorator or installer before fitting.

Damage caused by dropping, excessive pressure, unsuitable adhesive, inadequate surface preparation or failure to support the cover during curing is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Nothing in this notice limits the customer’s statutory rights or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
